Chicago MontessoriChicago Montessori started as a one-room preschool in 2005 and now serves over one hundred students. It is the only school in the city of Chicago to be fully accredited by Association Montessori International (AMI). We are one of only two schools in the state, and one of only 18 schools in the country, to be fully accredited by AMI for ages 0 - 12. We are proud to uphold the highest of standards for Montessori education in Chicago.

AMI was started by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929 to preserve the integrity of her life´s work with children, train teachers, and oversee the direction of schools around the world under her original guidelines. The AMI accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest quality Montessori education available.

Chicago Montessori offers three programs:
Toddler (age 2), Primary (ages 3-6), and Elementary (ages 6-12).

Chicago MontessoriIn our classrooms you will find children at all levels actively engaged in real and meaningful work. The toddlers growing sense of community is strengthened through their daily preparation and enjoyment of a group meal. The primary classrooms demonstrate mixed ages with an expanded academic curriculum. The elementary years focus on time management and completion of group research projects with weekly student-teacher meetings to monitor individual progress.

The elementary program (6-12 years) which began fall of 2010 is now accepting applications for kindergarten, first, and second grade. Montessori classroom experience is preferred, but not required.

Chicago MontessoriIn addition to our AMI curriculum we offer Spanish, gym, and music seamlessly integrated into the day. Our school emphasizes facilitating independence as a means to life, the building of character in young children and the individual´s contribution to community.

We invite you to browse the website and contact the Director with any questions regarding our programs.

Open Houses are scheduled in advance for November - February.
Please contact the school in the Fall of 2014 for details.
